Barograph height recorder or Hohenshreiber

This is a barograph or hohenshreiber which would typically be flown on bungee chords strung between the struts of an airplane or within the control gondola of a Zeppelin, as illustrated in the lower right photo.  In the lower left photo, a crewman is showing the aeroplane's pilot the recording device removed from it's wooden box and the man on the left is holding a piece of paper taken off of the drum of the recorder. This particular hohenshreiber is calibrated for a ceiling of 8000 meters and its calibration card is shown above; Adlershof is printed on the card and the date 2.9.18 is entered.
